February 17th, 2008      The Cross in our Prayers
Angela Tilby

Angela is a leading Christian writer and broadcaster. She has written extensively on theology in the modern world, and on the more personal subject of daily prayer. Angela has been a BBC producer, and is a regular speaker on Radio 4’s Thought for the Day. She is now a Vicar in Cambridge.


February 24th, 2008      The Cross in Christian Art
Christopher Herbert

Christopher is Bishop of St Albans. Our Bishop is well known for his interest in many forms of art, as an expression of Christian faith. He has conducted ‘retreats across the water’ to share the treasures of religious art on the continent. He will show slides to illustrate this lecture.


March 2nd, 2008      The Cross in the Lives of Melanesian Peacemakers
Richard Carter

Richard is on the staff of St Martin in the Fields, London. He spent 15 years working in the Solomon Islands, as tutor and chaplain of the Melanesian Brotherhood. His lecture, with slides, will tell the remarkable story of the Melanesian Brothers in recent years. Timothy Radcliffe writes of Richard’s book In Search of the Lost, ‘This book will make you weep, and laugh, and strengthen your faith.’


March 9th, 2008      The Cross in Poetry
Christopher Moody

Christopher is Vicar of St Alphege, Greenwich. Like our other speakers, he has been closely involved in theological education, through his influential book Eccentric Ministry and other writings. After some years as Team Rector of Market Harborough, he has returned to London where his parish ministry began.
